Hello beautiful people!
I’m back. I was shocked to see it’s been a couple of years since I’ve stuck my toe in the Substack waters. Or any internet publishing for that matter.
Moving forward, I will be creating short videos as well as writing. And I decided to do things a little differently as well.
The past few years have made me thinking about how I want to show up and what I want to focus on.
Should I be Theresa, AKA The Zany Sage? Theresa, breast cancer survivor? And there are certainly plenty of women who are facing gray divorce so I could focus on that. Organizing? ADHD?
In the end, I decided it was time to return to me.
Just Theresa. Just T.
No flashy marketing angles. No new course on SEO. No building readership on Medium.
I will admit, I am a bit of an Anglophile when it comes to British programming. Give me some Grantchester or Downton Abbey any day! On those shows, whenever there is a problem to be solved or a discussion to be had someone often says “Put the kettle on.”
It sounds so wonderfully cozy. Almost like anything can be solved over a good cuppa.
and so: Cup of T.
I will be making short videos of random sorta shit on life. But then there’s the shitty shit. That’s shit that has been shat upon, wrapped up, and served to you on a steaming pu-pu platter.
Worst part? You never ordered it!
And yes, I like to have fun too. Humor has helped me face many a dark day. Laughter might not be the best medicine when you have a medical condition, but it can sure as hell can lighten the load when that load becomes unbearable.
More than anything, I desire to bring you encouragement—and frequent reminders that you are loved.
Whatever difficulty you are facing, it’s best faced with together, especially when your instincts are screaming to isolate and go it alone.
While I was in treatment for breast cancer, I discovered one of my super powers: learning how to ask for help. And, as Mister Rogers told us, when you are in need or afraid, look for the helpers.
I can assure you from experience, the helpers will be there. Sometimes in unexpected and delightful ways!
So now, dear one, I would like to offer my help to you though my presence here.
A Facebook community and YouTube channel are still in the works. I’d say I’m off and running but honestly, it feels more like a determined stumble forward.
And I invite you to come along.
Thank you for reading and being part of this new little community.
You are loved.
T
